Had a Land Patent, White County, AR: Vol. AR0640.459, Land Ofc. Batesville, 01-JUL-59, Doc.# 10008, Cash Entry; Part #1: SW, Sec. 17, Twp. 5 N, R 9 W, 160 acres. James enlisted in the Confederate Army August 1, 1862 at Jacksonport. He was taken prisoner at Helena on July 4, 1863 and died with

smallpox Sept. 10, 1863 in a military prison at Alton, Illinois. He was in the 30th AR Infantry, Co. K., CSA.

250. William Penn RUBOTTOM

William Penn established Rubottom, OK in western Love County, 18 miles west of
Marietta, OK. The post office was established August 14, 1902. He was a
prominent landowner and gin operator.
