Moore; And Messiah's father was Jesse Moore. Now Jesse was born in Colepepper County Virginia and he moved over to. Oh where he go? Oh anyway he was born in Laurel County and he used to come back and forth to go to Woodford County to see his parents and he met Peggy West. No, Jesse didn't Jesse went to Laurel county and Messiah used to go back and forth between Laurel and Jessamine county. The tape fades here for a moment. Met Peggy West and they lived down in the Glades area and they had eight boys and one girl and one of those boys was my grandfather, William Owsley Moore and they were here again long before Fee came in. They were in the Glades area and they were all involved in organizing the Glades Christian Church and Fee came in to preach at the Glades church. One time I was doing some research and I decided that I wanted to see the minutes at the old Glades Church. I had done the minutes on the Silver Creek Church. Well I putted and I talked and I fussed and I finally found out that some women went down one day to clean the church and the minutes were under the pulpit. They burned them. So a great deal of the history of Berea was burned when they burned those minutes.

Hmmm...I have an Isaac Moore born about 1820 (married Mary Dinsmore, daughter of James
Dinsmore and Mary Moore Dinsmore). In the 1870 census he is listed as M. Isaac
Moore. I wonder if Nathaniel is also a son of this Moses (he was born abt 1785). If
Nathaniel is the father of my Isaac or M. Isaac as I suspect, then it could be that M.
Isaac was named after his grandfather. Are ;you confused yet? Think I'll go to
Family Search and see if anything turns up for Moses and Elizabeth. Have you been to
Don Chesnut's site He has a lot of Moore's, and I think that some of yours are listed

His youngest son John/Johnny Young was born 1879, after that I find nothing. An old family Bible listed another son/stepson of Thomas Shively Lovins. I assume he left Mary and moved in with this Lovins woman. The NC birth place came from one of the censuses. Not sure of anything on Thomas other than his marriages and births of his children. Thomas Young is related to the John Franklin Young line. Just can't seem to figure out how?

Looking for information on a Thomas or Thomas William YOUNG. According to the 1870 and 1880 census of Laurel Co KY, he was born around 1843. Further information suggests he may have been from TN or NC originally. I did find on the LDS site a Thomas YOUNG son of Aaron Young and Ann D. Unknown, born 1843 in Dekalb Co TN. Thomas Young married twice, once to Sarah/Mary Arthur in 1866 in Laurel Co KY, his children were Joseph William, Sarah Catharine, Mollie and Margaret Young. He married 1876 in Laurel Co KY to Mary Moore, their children were Hiram and John Young. Any information on this family is greatly appreciated.

Wish I knew more about Thomas Young, was told we tie into Rev John Franklin Young, but don't know how. Thomas Young is a hard one to find. He came from NC, and from family hearsay he may have been Cherokee. I know I found his daughter by his first wife, Molly Young Johnson, living in Chocktaw territory in Oklahoma.
Another distant cousin and myself are trying to find out what happened to him. Can't find a hair of him after 1880. Found Mary Moore living with her sister's family in 1900, but can't seem to locate that census or my notes anymore. Her sister married a Hunt, Francis I think. The Youngs are my brickwall.
My Mom did visit Cherokee a while back, all the stores there are run by the Youngs. I had a greatuncle get his tribal papers, but before I could get a copy of them, he died and the kids don't know what happened to "all that junk". If they knew how hard I work on this gen 'junk' they wouldn't have thrown it out.
