12. Abslom Price STUBBLEFIELD

Note: Absalom was the son of Nathaniel Stubblefield and Mary "Polly" Armstrong. Absalom was born Jan. 27, 1844 in Franklin Co. Tenn. It appears that Nathaniel moved quite often because the census's show his children were born in Tenn. Ala. Ill. and Mo. Absalom and his family were first listed Osage Co. Mo. census in 1850. Absalom's mother died and Nathaniel married jemima Williams on Oct. 28, 1855 in Osage Co. Mo. It is apparent on the 1860 census that Jemima had two children from a previous marriage, the same census shows that Nathaniel and Jemima had a son together named James. It was told by Absalom to his family that his step mother was not good to him, so he left home. The 1860 census shows Absalom living in Franklin Co Mo. with a Henry Stubblefield, possibly a brother or uncle. It has also been passed down through Absaloms family that he served in the Confederate Army During the Civil War. Absalom evidently returned to Franklin Co. Mo. Where he married Mary A. Plummer on Jan. 2, 1872. To this union twelve children were born. One of whom was Sally Stubblefield, she was crippled by Polio, her brothers carried her where ever she wanted to go, Sally died at age 18 in Barry Co. Mo. Absalom and Mary moved their family from Barry Co. Mo. to Bristow Okla. Creek Co. on Polecat Creek in 1907 before Okla. became a state. Absalom and his family were among the first to settle in Creek Co. Okla. Absalom was a Live Stock Farmer until his death on Nov. 1, 1910, Mary died on July 26, 1920 both are buried in Oaklawn Cem. in Bristow Okla. Creek Co.
