Thomas STANLEY I

Notes

87. Sarah STANLEY

Occupation: Herb Doctor

William HOLLOWAY

It is believed William Holloway was born in New Jersey. He moved with his parents from Hoddenfield M.M., New Jersey to the Hopewell M.M., Virginia in 1779. William shows next in the Crooked Run M.M., Virginia as moving to the South River Monthly Meeting where he was married and all his children were born here at the South River M.M., Campbell County, Virginia. In 1812, William moved his family to Ohio on a church certificate dated: 1812 to the Faifield M.M. (This was the parish where certificates were sent in this general area) but it is believed he settled at Clear Creek M.M., Ohio and probably lived here until 1817. In 1817, he is shown moving to Lees Creek M.M., Ohio at which place most of his children were married. In 1826, Williamand family are shown receiving a certificate to Springfield M.M., Indiana, and arriving there 21 July 1827. (Keep in mind that these certificates could have been issued several months before he left Ohio and then not presented to the church for a period of time after he arrived in Indiana.)
