2. James STANLEY Sr.

James2 Stanley Sr. (6345) (Thomas1) was christened on 15 April 1688 at St. Peter's Episcopal Parish, New Kent Co., Virginia.2 He married Catherine Hutchins (6342), daughter of Nicholas Hutchins (6339) and Mary Watkins (6340), on 5 March 1728 at Friends Meeting House, Henrico Co., Virginia, Witnesses to the marriage were Edward and Martha Bennett, Mary Pleasants and others.3 He died on 7 August 1754 at Hanover Co., Virginia.4

On 4 February 1724 at Cedar Creek Meeting House, Hanover Co., Virginia, James, of the Cedar Creek PM, was reported by Thomas Stanley as being imprisoned for refusal to pay tithes or priests wages.5

On 2 August 1736 James had claimed at the Monthly Meeting that "he being at great charge in keeping his wife's (widowed) mother, Mary Holme who has been helpless for some time.".3

On 12 March 1739 at Cedar Creek Meeting House, Hanover Co., Virginia, James with his brother Thomas was Chosen Overseer of Cedar Creek Meeting.5

On 8 July 1739 James contributed 5 pounds toward the building of the Cedar Creek MH.5

Catherine Hutchins (6342) was born in 1703 at Henrico Co., Virginia. She died on 20 December 1766 at Guilford Co., North Carolina.6

3. Thomas STANLEY II

On 2 April 1722 at Cedar Creek Meeting House, Hanover Co., Virginia, Thomas Jr. was appointed first overseer of the newly established PM at Cedar Creek.5

On 12 March 1739 at Cedar Creek Meeting House, Hanover Co., Virginia, Thomas with his brother James was Chosen Overseer of Cedar Creek Meeting.5

On 8 July 1739 Thomas contributed 5 pounds toward the building of the Cedar Creek MH
