Bonnie, has tape of funeral. Her last name-Mitts. lives south ofWright,WY.

1 _MDCL Had a heart attack in 1976, "open heart surgery" 1986, died of Heart complications 1894. Lived 18 years with heart problems! not too bad, I'd say.

Resided in and around Newcastle, Wy all his life until 1960 when theymoved to Spearfish, Lawrence Co. SD where he still lives very comfortably.


Ross Lewis (Junior) Allen ,80, Spearfish, died Monday Jan 18, 1999 inSpearfish from Emphysema. His ashes have been scattered by hisson-in-law over the family ranch east of Four Corners, WY.

Ross Lewis (Junior) Allen was born March 28, 1918 to Ross Winfield andAnna
"Lorella" (Kovak-Smith) Allen in Newcastle, Weston County, WY. He grewup on the family ranch in Weston County which was the famous CanyonSprings Prairie Stage Station where the Deadwood Stage Robbery occurred.

He married Bertha Lavina Procunier, daughter of Avon Francis and Vina(Phillips-Foster) Procunier, July 11, 1939 in Newcastle. To this unionwere born a daughter, Bertha "Elaine" on Sept 10, 1940 and a son FrancisRoss on March 7, 1943, both in Newcastle.

In the early ‘40s, Junior drove a team pulling a sled with a wood stovein the back as a school bus. Upon leaving the ranch, he worked for theU.S. Forest Service at Hardy Ranger Station near O’Neil Pass in SouthDakota. He and his brother Ervin had a Sawmill on Stockade Beaver Creekin Weston County, WY. He later drove the Stockade Beaver Creek Highschool bus to Newcastle. He then worked for Jack Graham Service Stationand carried mail along the Morrisey route. Bertha and Junior moved toSpearfish in 1960 where he became known as Ross. He worked for the U.S.Forest Service again and retired from there in 1981.

He was a great family man and dearly loved hunting and fishing with otherfamily members.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha in 1994, his parents, RossW. in 1984 and Lorella in 1982, one sister, Anna Marie Rawhouser in 1994,and 2 brothers-in-law.

He is survived by his daughter, Elaine and her husband Dean Allen ofBelle Fourche, SD. One son Francis (Frank) and his wife Judy Allen ofRiverside, CA.
2 sisters and 1 brother; Ariel Cole, Ervin and wife Rose Allen, and Lornaand husband Carl (Bill) Hansen. 4 Grandchildren, 13Great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
