The following family history of the Samuel N. Lindsey was taken from:"Kitsap County History, A Store of Kitsap County and Its Pioneers"Complied by Kitsap Co. Historical Society Book Committee. @ 1977
When Samuel N. and Hattie (Fowler) Lindsey arrived in Tracyton in1918 they rented part of an old hotel which had housed the post office, store and wine room. The structure was not being used as a hotel at thetime.
Eva Colvin, third daughter of the Lindseys recalls that there was afeedstore on the dock and a barber shop and the boat stopped three timesa day. There was a boardwalk from the foot of the hill (where the boatramp is now) all the way to the top of the hill. A wooden bridge crossedthe little creek at the crossroads by the Joe Sackman place the hotelproperty.
At the time there were few streets in Tracyton and the town consistedof the post office and the E.E. Riddell's store.
The only way to get back and forth to PSNS was by boat. Althoughthere was a very narrow road from Tracyton to Manette and there one tookthe shuttle ferry owned by Harry and Alvin Hansen.
Mrs. Colvin recalls that stores began to spring up in 1928 with onelarge store in the Walter Deathridge home and built later at the cornerat the cross roads. By that time the wagon trail roads had widened andmore cars were coming into the area.
A grange hall at the shore end of the dock burned and the presentgarage was built. (This is now known as the community hall.) Katie andHerbert Brookman owned the second store (where the tavern is) Mrs.Edwards built the store now stored by Grakeys. (This taken from 1967family history)

Genealogy.com Message Board:
William Henry Fowler was born Nov. 22, 1875 in Iowa and was, indeed, the son of James Augustine Fowler. He died in 1900 in Buckman, New Mexico. This William married Sarah Mitchell. Their only child, Georgia Mae Fowler, married Albert E. Harmon. They had four children. Unfortunately, I have been unable to go back further than Benjamin Nicholas Fowler who we think as born in Virginia. Family oral history states that William fought in the Spanish-American war and on his way home from Cuba he traveled through Missouri, I believe, and married Sarah Mitchell and took her back to Colorado or New Mexico where he died, at age 25, from complications of war wounds, leaving her with a very small child (Georgia under age 2). Sarah left the baby with James and Jenny Stevens, William's parents, to raise and returned home. I have a tape and transcript of this oral history from my great-aunts and Georgie which was recorded around 1975. Price Fowler was James A. Fowler's brother. I'm sure that the William you are inquiring about cannot be the same.

William married Sarah MITCHEL about 1895. Sarah was born about 1879 in of Centerville, Appahoose, Ia.
