Elisha HANBY (b. 1772 VA) & Mary ROGERS (b. 1772 NJ - maiden name?) m.
Greene Co. OH 1810. They remained in Greene Co., ended up in Clinton Co.
Their son, my William Clinton HANBY, m. Hannah, dau/James & Elizabeth FOWLER,
resided Oxford Twp. Butler Co. mid-1800's, then removed to IN.

In the 1830 OH census, Reilly Twp., Butler Co., a Matthias HANBY (b.
1750-60) and a John HANBY (b. 1800-1810) were enumerated. Who were they???

There was a William HANBY who was a trustee of Otterbein College, and a
bishop in the United Brethren Church. He died about 1840 (in the epidemic??).
When William's son, Benjamin Russell HANBY (1833 Rushville, Fairfield Co.
OH -1867) was orphaned, he was bound out. He m. Mary Kay WINTER, became a
principal at the Academy in Seven Mile, Butler Co. and lived in Westerville
1853-1867. This is who wrote "Up on the Housetop," "My Darling Nellie Gray"
and other songs to boost his meager income. The songs were published in
Chicago. I have not visited his home, which was turned into a museum.

William and Hannah had the following children:
