Burial in Putnam Co, IL.

Jesse Margrave was Clerk of Court in Sussex Co., VA in 1799. He was
listed on 1800 census for S. C. (pg 155). Left for KY shorly therafter
and was there by 1802. He was on the Logan Co., KY tax list in 1802 and
was in Caldwell Co., KY by 1809. Jesse was listed on 1814 Caldwell Co.,
KY census. Left for Bond Co., IL about 1817 with son John along with the
Wafer and Horition Durley families. John and his family and the Wafer
family went in one wagon, each furnishing half of the team. Both Jesse
and son John were listed in 1820 census for Bond Co., IL. Jesse and his
wife, Mary left Bond Co., IL in 1835-36 with their son Felix and went to
Putnam Co., IL The history of Marshal and Putnam Counties in IL states
that the Town of Granville was surveyed for Felix in 1836. The 1840
Census for Putnam Co., Il Lists Jesse and his wife to be 70-80 years of
age.

Jesse married Mary Polly LAUGHLIN, daughter of John "Luke" LAUGHLIN and Mary WHITE, in 1781/1790 in Kentucky Or PA. Mary was born about 1760 in Caldwell Co., KY or Cumberland, PA. She died on 15 Dec 1846 in Caldwell Co., KY.

They had the following children:
