H 2 CONC e was the son of Alfred J. and Sylvia Lindsey ofTracyton. 2 CONT Kitsap County detectives said the Lindsey boy was shot by a friend,Charles E. Russell, 17 2 CONC , also of Tracyton, who pulled the trigger of a gun he believed was not loaded. 2 CONT The hospital said Lindsey died of internal bleeding caused when the bullet passed throug 2 CONC h his liver and severed the abdominal aorta. 2 CONT Detectives quoting young Russell gave this version of events leading up to the shooting. 2 CONT The two boys had just returned home from school. They ate pieces of pie in the kitchen o 2 CONC f the Lindsey home. Lindsey was getting some cheese out of the refrigerator when Russell not 2 CONC iced a .22 calibre rifle on the porch. To surprise Lindsey, he got the rifle and pointed i 2 CONC t at him through the crack between the refrigerator and the open door. Russell's hand hit th 2 CONC e trigger and the gun discharged. 2 CONT Detectives said there was no trigger guard on the loaded, single shot weapon. The Russel 2 CONC l boy attempted to phone for help, but found the line busy. He then ran across the road to t 2 CONC he Tracyton store and told the proprietor that he had shot Lindsey. The Silverdale ambulanc 2 CONC e was called. 2 CONT First call to the ambulance was placed shortly before 3:45 p.m. The boy was declared dea 2 CONC d on arrival on the hospital half an hour later. 2 CONT The bullet hit the deceased just below the rib cage and passed through the body.
