were executors of Hugh Harper, Isabella’s former husband. They bought land Cumberland Co.
at Dry Spring, piece called “Executorship.” Land adjoins Adam CARSON ’s land, and
Andrew Bratton’s land. This land surveyed 07 NOV 1766 by Andrew CARSON
(is this a mistake?) who deeded it to Hugh Harper 02 MAY 1769. Harper willed it to his wife.
Next document, same people, piece of land called “Syracuse” Cumberland Co.,

(The following from Jay Nielson):
Agnes HARE: A Daniel HARE, soldier in the war of 1812, was seriously injured and wrote a will before his death. The will was proved in Fayette Co. (PA) in 1813, and names his mother, Agnes HARE, as executor. She was living in Dunbar township. There is also a record of a James HARE of Fayette Co. being killed in 1813 in the War of 1812; perhaps this is an error and refers to Daniel. A Daniel HARE shows up on the tax lists for Dunbar township in 1799; the probable husband of Agnes. Daniel Sr. was apparently dead before 1813; there are no other HARE wills in Fayette Co. prior to 1834; however, looking through the county history, there appear to be other HARES listed throughout the book as late as the 1860’s.

LDS web site:
Henry Carson Male
Birth: 31 JUL 1744 , Lancaster, Pennsylvania
Father: Aaron Carson
Mother: Nancy Harper

In an attempt to link our Henry Carson with those in Lancaster Co, PA, I found a Revolutionary War record on the Pennsylvania Archives web site for a Henry Carson who enlisted in that county and served in the 4th Battalion under Captain Phillip Matthias. The record was dated October 23, 1777. He served a second tour under the same officer starting July 14, 1778 as a private. I believe this was the father of our David Carson. I did not find any David's who served out of Pennsylvania, however, our David was probably too young to serve. He would have been age 11 in 1777.

Henry Carson, Lancaster, Co, 4th Battalion, 6th Company, Capt. Phillip Matthias, Oct. 23, 1777, served
Second Tour, July 14, 1778, 6th Co, Capt. Phillip Matthias, Rank Pvt.

This is important because it is another link between Henry Carson and William Carson who married Isabella Gilmore. They were in Lancaster Co, PA. As more evidence is found, it is becoming quite apparent that Henry was closely connected to the Lancaster, PA Carson families, and probably to the Dauphin Co, PA Carson families also.

Nancy - That information you sent me about David Carson living to the age of 110 may not be that far off. I think I found him and Margaret in the 1850 census...if so, he was not born in Ireland but in PA. If he served in the Rev War he was pretty darn young to be anything other than an errand boy and he did not receive a pension that I can find. Haven't found them in the 1840 or 1860 census. Notice he is living with Benj. and Elizabeth Ducket. An Elizabeth Carson m. Benjamin Duckett Mar 22, 1835 in Fountain, Indiana. The Beedles were there and Joshua Fowler. James Carson, son of James Carson and Rebecca Hill, was in Fountain, IN. (RECALL, THEY HAD A SON ADAM) James m. Leticia Adams. They were from Adams, OH. Elizabeth may be their daughter. If so, I wonder why David was living with them. It is a clue as to which Carson branch David may have been from....those who were in Adams, OH probably. Notice David has a DAVIS living with him. AND GUESS WHERE BENJAMIN DUCKET WAS IN 1860? In Center, Madison, Iowa with Isabella Carson and John Beedle....My Nancy Carson and Ben Fowler were in Iowa too, but they were in a different county (Keokuk). And Meriba Carson and Jack Mabery were in Lucas, IA.
This makes a strong case that David Carson may have been connected to the family of James Carson and Rebecca Hill. I know this is a real stretch, but Alexander Harvey Carson had a son Robert James Carson who m. Elizabeth Ann Reed (according to other researchers). The Carsons in Adams, OH may have been his descendants. There was a Robert Carson in 1810 Hamilton, OH. He was also there in 1820. Could be a grandson of Alexander Harvey Carson.

He was in Mifflin, Pennsylvania along with several familiar names connected with his line. William Giffin was the father of James Giffin who married Henry's daughter, Margaret Carson. I've also included several Blacks living nearby because I located a Samuel Carson on the LDS web site who married Abigail Black in Mifflin, PA. Samuel was the grandson of William Carson Sr. and Anna Maccord (McCord), both of whom were born in Ireland. William Black was probably related to Abigail. Samuel's parents were William Carson Jr. and Isabella Gilmore, also both born in Ireland. Some time between 1808 and 1814, both William Sr. and William Jr. moved their families to Scioto Twp, Ross, Ohio. In an excerpt from the Scioto web site there is information about their son Hugh Carson who was one of the earliest settlers there. Also mentioned is Jacob Creamer. Jacob served in the Washington, PA Frontier Rangers from 1778-1783 with several familiar Fowlers, Devores and Ellis's. Also mentioned is Dunn. Lydia Dunn married the grandson of Henry Carson and Margaret Ellis.

ROSS COUNTY OHIO HISTORY
http://www.heritagepursuit.com/Ross/RossChapXVII.htm
Joseph Ogle came in 1800, a native of Maryland, and an early emigrant to Kentucky. He hauled wood for the use of the first legislature convened at Chillicothe. Benoni Baker came to Paxton with his father's family in 1800, and located the parental home near the farm of J. M. Fernow. On the marriage of Benoni, he located on a farm at Big Falls, and afterward removed to land which he purchased on Yellow Hill. There he ended his days, and transmitted the farm to his son Benjamin. Robert Carson came into Ross county with Reeves, in 1798, but first settled in Highland county, for a few months, when he relocated in Paxton township, and here, in 1799, was born his son, D. C. Carson, who was probably the first white child born in the township. John Blackstone, a Virginian, came to Paxton in 1802, and settled on a two hundred acre farm near the foot of big Copperas Mountain, where he spent the remainder of his days. The farm has passed into other hands, though some of his descendants still live in the township.

He had the following children:

155 M i Duncan C. CARSON was born in 1799 in Ross Co, Ohio.

ROSS COUNTY OHIO HISTORY
