SARAH SMALLWOOD, b. 4 Aug 1808, Hardin Co., KY, dau. of Hezekiah (b. VA) and Frances (Owens/or Owings) Smallwood, married 22 Nov 1827, Hardin Co., KY, James Boone Stewart.

I have a SAMUEL SMALLWOOD, b. 1773, VA, m. 24 Mar 1807, in Hardin Co., KY, RACHEL BUSH, b. 1782, Nelson Co., KY, dau. of Christopher and Hannah Bush who were in the Nelson/Hardin Co. area by 1780. The Bush line is mine, and they tie to Radley's and Sears also from KY who went to IL.

Hezekiah Smallwood ended up in Hardin Co., KY, as did Samuel Smallwood. Pryor Smallwood was in Nelson Co., KY, and was married to Eleanor Abell.

Your Sarah Smallwood had a sister Elizabeth Smallwood who m. a Solomon Stewart in 1827, Hardin Co., KY. I don't know if he is related to your Stewart.

The Smallwoods were originally from MD, and three brothers, Samuel, Pryor, and Hezekiah, sons of Benjamin and Lydia (Hutchinson) Smallwood are their parents. Benjamin took his family to VA.

My Sears grandfather said our family tied to Stewart's also, but I haven't found that connection yet. I'd be interested in knowing more about your Stewart connection.
