James Ellis was borned in Wales about 1729, and married Mary Veatch Jan. 1, 1748 ( See Mary Veatch's Genealogy Line ). James and his wife Mary came to America from Wales early in the eighteenth century and settled first in Maryland, where after spending a few years they emigrated to western Pennsylvania.

Library of Congress. No date on document. Papers of the Continental
Congress No 48, Folios 251-6, pages 89-96). The names in this petition,

I am looking for information on my 3rd great-grandmother Mary (Veach) Ellis. Mary was the widow of James Ellis. About 1805 she was known to be living in Fallowfield township, Washington county, Pennsylvania. Her children were James, Nathan, Jesse, Samuel, Hezekiah, and Jeremiah Ellis.
