Mary M. Scott-Guest had a small house on the opposite side of 19th (900 blk) from John and Irene. She bought that house shortly after John William Guest II died in 1922. For a few years before that they had the Tuolumne Hotel on 17th Street and before that they lived on the family ranch at Quartzburg (near Mt. Gains Mine).

Mary married John William Guest II on 12 Oct 1878 in Washington Mine, Mariposa Co., Calif. John was born in 1854 in Ohio.  John was the son of John William Guest I from England and Elizabeth Tracy.
