I've finally gotten my exact paternal line that connects me to Andrew Daniel Branson. My great-great grandfather was Thomas Jefferson Branson. He worked for Burlington and travelled to Colorado most of his life. He was Andrew Jackson Branson's nephew, so it is likely that he did visit your group in Pagosa Springs. Andrew "Jack" Jackson Branson, Jr. would have been his first cousin, so it is likely they knew each other.

I'm just ecstatic to find my great-great grandfather. I was speaking to Kathleen Branson, of California, MO... she is the secretary/treasurer for the Branson Family Reunions in that city. She tells me that nothing is known of Thomas Jefferson Branson's descendents, only a big blank page just waiting for me to populate with the names of my immediate family. YEA!!

Isaac Branson of Delaware County Indiana served in the 19th Indiana Infantry that was part of the famous "Iron Brigade". He took part in the battle of Gettysburg on July 1st 1863 and was wounded in the knee. The confederate unit that the 19th Indiana fought that day was the 26th North Carolina. In the ranks of the 26th North Carolina were Eli and William Branson of Chatham County North Carolina. This is the same county that Levi Branson (1732-1823) and his brother Eli Branson (1734-1797) had many of their children. I'm in the early stages of trying to connect these three Branson's together. I believe they are all descendants of Thomas L Branson Sr. (1670/1671 - 1744) If I can connect Eli and William Branson to the same Branson family tree as Isaac Branson it would not only show "family" fighting on different sides during the war but also fighting directly against each other in one of the most famous battles of the Civil War.
